He left home in Warren, Pennsylvania because he told me “my stepmother was a Witch!” His uncle owned a Cattle Ranch in Loveland, Colorado. He worked there for a few years. I was in the Ninth Grade when I asked my Grandfather about his life. He told me a lot of stories that day. He said after driving cattle from his Uncle’s Ranch in Colorado to Texas “I never want to see the back of a cow again!”
